Peak District Rock Climbing and Abseiling Experience Course Content
This experience is suitable for beginner climbers who have never tried climbing before. If you are visiting the Peak District and are looking for things to do in Derbyshire or you live locally and want just a fun Peak District activity, this experience is for you. We run several different Rock Climbing Courses in the Peak District and the content of each session is not fixed but a bit of a guide - we will always speak to you beforehand and tailor the day to your experience , fitness levels and goals.
You will do a thrilling abseil at one of the gritstone edges in the Peak District
You will have a go at Rock Climbing at one of the best locations in the Peak District, complete with stunning views, wonderful nature, and fantastic history. There are venues available close to Hathersage, Bakewell, Matlock and Ladybower Reservoir. You can see some of our favourite venues below.
If you would like to learn new skills we can teach you how to tie a figure of eight for climbing and how to belay (hold each other’s ropes). If you would prefer to just focus on the experience and leave the belaying to us we are happy to do all of that.
This is a private group session. The cost includes up to 3 people. The cost for each additional person is £55 for Half Day and £80 for Full Day bookings. We allow bookings for the next day up until 5 pm. If your booking is for over 8 people, please book at least 48 hours advance. If you would like to book within 48 hours please give us a ring first.

We conduct our sessions rain or shine! We will only cancel our courses if there are severe weather warnings. We know the area well and will find the most suitable place and adapt and change the activity if the weather is not quite optimal to ensure your best experience and reducing our impact on the environment. The staff who deliver your courses are highly qualified and experienced guides for many of whom this is their full time job. We recognise that the weather is the one thing that is out of our control and we will always be as flexible as we can to work with you whilst making sure that our jobs are sustainable.
